About the position

The Board Certified Behavior Analyst (Behavior Analyst I) at the Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) plays a crucial role in providing senior-level behavior analysis services to individuals with cognitive, developmental, physical, and health-related needs. This position involves consultation, technical assistance, and supervision of behavioral health staff, focusing on developing and implementing behavior support plans for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Responsibilities

  • Provide senior-level behavior analysis services in consultation and technical assistance.
  • Supervise behavioral health staff in applied behavior analysis.
  • Conduct observations and functional assessments for behavior analysis and service delivery.
  • Develop and implement behavior support plans and skill acquisition plans.
  • Train staff on positive approaches to prevent and address challenging behaviors.
  • Evaluate the implementation of behavior support plans through observation and documentation review.
  • Maintain knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, and agency policies.
  • Participate in various work groups and committees, including chairing the Behavior Support Plan Peer Review Committee.

Requirements

  • Must be a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst and eligible for licensure in Texas.
  • A minimum of a master's degree in behavior analysis, education, psychology, or a related discipline is required.
  • Experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities is preferred.
  • Ability to conduct comprehensive functional behavior assessments and develop behavior support plans.
  • Knowledge of applied behavior analysis and behavior support plan development.
  • Ability to evaluate behavioral data and make clinical recommendations.
  • Advanced writing skills for developing technical reports and documentation.
