About The Position

The role will entail supporting drug discovery programs by the execution of in-vitro assays under the direction of a more senior staff member. Developing and executing cell-based assays and experimental studies using standard and innovative scientific approaches and techniques. Tissue culture, cell-based compound testing, and the use of a variety of immunoassay techniques to quantify protein and post-translational modifications in culture medium and cell lysate. Utilize assay formats like plate-based ELISA, AlphaLISA, GTRF and immunofluorescence, qPCR. Perform data analysis and interpret results of experiments with collaboration from other scientists. Work will be performed in a BSL2 or BSL2+ setting.

Requirements

  • Completed Bachelors degree or Masters degree in Pharmacology or other related discipline and 3-5 years of experience, preferably in an industry setting
  • Skilled in performing and/or developing immunological assays to support drug discovery
  • Experience with molecular biology techniques such as transfection, utilization of AAV or Bacmams
  • Ability to perform sterile Tissue Culture and to apply treatments to cells
  • Knowledge in automation, data analysis, molecular biology and cell biology
  • Ability to work independently and team orientated
  • Ability to collaborate with other scientists
  • Ability to communicate clearly and candidly
  • Willing to learn novel technical skills
  • Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience working with live viruses
  • Previous experience with automated liquid handlers (combi/multi drop, Bravo, and ECHO acoustic dispenser)
  • Previous experience with readers (Envision, PHERAstar, MSD, and Acumen Explorer)
  • Knowledge of virology, HIV and techniques to handle live viruses
  • Experience with curve fitting data analysis software (GraphPad, Spotfire, GeneData) and ELN
