About The Position

Roy Anderson Corp. is seeking a motivated BIM Engineer to support the company’s Building Information Modeling, Virtual Design and Construction, and construction technology efforts. This is an early-career position designed for someone who is interested in how digital tools, 3D models, coordination processes, and field technology can improve the way construction projects are planned and built. The BIM Engineer will support project teams throughout the full project lifecycle, including preconstruction, design coordination, construction, field execution, and closeout. This role will assist with model coordination, issue tracking, project documentation, field technology workflows, and general BIM/VDC support. This position is a strong opportunity for a recent college graduate or an early-career professional with a background in construction management, architecture, engineering, drafting, building science, or related technology fields. Candidates are not expected to be experts in every software platform or construction workflow on day one. The ideal candidate is curious, organized, dependable, willing to learn, comfortable asking questions, and interested in growing into a strong BIM/VDC professional.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or Associate’s degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, Building Science, Drafting/Design Technology, or a related field
  • Equivalent field, drafting, trade, construction, or BIM experience may also be considered
  • 0–3 years of experience in BIM, VDC, construction, engineering, architecture, drafting, or trade coordination
  • Recent graduates are encouraged to apply
  • Basic exposure to Revit, AutoCAD, Navisworks, Revizto, Autodesk Construction Cloud, BIM 360, or similar modeling and coordination tools
  • Basic understanding of construction drawings, building systems, and trade coordination
  • Ability to read and learn from architectural, structural, civil, MEP, and shop drawings
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage details, deadlines, model updates, and issue logs
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams, and PowerPoint

Responsibilities

  • Assist with BIM coordination meetings involving design consultants, subcontractors, project teams, and owners
  • Support review of architectural, structural, civil, MEP, fire protection, and specialty trade models
  • Help identify, document, and track coordination issues under the direction of senior team members
  • Assist with clash detection, model review, issue assignment, and coordination follow-up
  • Track responsible parties, due dates, issue status, and resolution progress
  • Prepare coordination exhibits, screenshots, meeting materials, and model-based visuals for project teams
  • Help maintain organized records of coordination decisions, open items, and project requirements
  • Assist with model setup, file organization, naming conventions, shared coordinates, and model exchange workflows
  • Help maintain current model files and confirm that project teams are working from the latest available information
  • Perform basic model reviews for completeness, accuracy, and alignment with project BIM requirements
  • Support BIM Execution Plan requirements, model matrices, coordination zones, and deliverable logs
  • Assist with creation of 2D and 3D views, logistics graphics, field sketches, lift drawings, and presentation visuals
  • Support the development and maintenance of project-specific BIM/VDC standards and workflows
  • Support field teams with access to models, mobile BIM tools, issue viewing, and field verification workflows
  • Help compare field conditions against design and coordination models to identify discrepancies
  • Support constructability reviews, installation sequencing, prefabrication planning, logistics planning, and safety planning
  • Assist with model-based information for RFIs, submittals, change management, progress reporting, and closeout documentation
  • Help project teams use technology to improve communication between the office, field, design teams, and trade partners
  • Prepare meeting notes, issue reports, coordination logs, model review comments, and presentation materials
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with project teams, consultants, subcontractors, and owner representatives
