About the position

The Telecommunications Billing Analyst will oversee and manage billing, cost control, and invoice reconciliation for telecommunications services within federal contracts. This role requires a deep understanding of telecommunications systems and effective vendor communication, ensuring billing accuracy and resolving discrepancies. The ideal candidate will work closely with federal managers and vendors to streamline the telecommunications billing process.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary point of contact with telecommunications vendors and federal managers, ensuring effective communication.
  • Review and verify telecommunications invoices, cross-checking against service assets and records.
  • Generate detailed reports and escalate inconsistencies to federal managers, coordinating with vendors to resolve billing issues.
  • Conduct thorough analysis of billing data for telecommunications services, ensuring all charges align with service records.
  • Oversee and manage a large portfolio of telecommunications accounts, maintaining accurate historical data and processing invoices for payment approvals.
  • Track expenses across telecommunications services and prepare documentation for payment processing.
  • Manage service requests and changes for telecommunications accounts, including call accounting and tracking reports.
  • Address and resolve disputes related to telecommunications billing, negotiating credits with vendors as necessary.
  • Monitor and reconcile telecommunications costs within a monthly budget, identifying and rectifying billing errors.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in telecommunications billing, vendor negotiation, and cost management.
  • Strong foundation in accounting and reconciliation practices related to telecommunications.
  • Understanding of federal contract and telecommunications regulatory standards.
  • Proficient in telecommunications billing software and data management tools.
  • Advanced skills in analyzing telecommunications data with attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with experience in vendor and client communications.
  • Strong problem-solving skills in troubleshooting telecommunications billing issues.

Nice-to-haves

  • 3-5 years of experience working directly with telecommunications vendors and handling billing and account management for large accounts.
  • Familiarity with federal contracts and telecommunications billing in government or regulatory environments.
  • Extensive experience with telecommunication systems, including landline and wireless networks.
