About the position

Pepsi Bottling Ventures is seeking a Beverage Equipment Service Tech Lead to join our team. We are jointly owned by Suntory and PepsiCo, with a legacy of providing PepsiCo products to the Carolinas and beyond. The Beverage Equipment Service Tech Lead will effectively and efficiently diagnose, service, and repair all vendors, coolers, fountain, and other designated equipment within the assigned territory. This role requires exceptional customer service skills and supports the training and onboarding of new team members.

Responsibilities

  • Provide 'Service that Sells' by interacting with customers daily to help diagnose, educate, and support while ensuring customer expectations and PBV business objectives are met.
  • Perform all duties of Service Technicians, Fountain Installers, and Vending Delivery team members.
  • Maintain and manage an average equipment base of 13,000 assets valued over $20M, including diagnosing and repairing, reading schematics, replacing parts, and testing components using electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic testing equipment.
  • Meet Pepsi-Cola North America (PCNA) quality objectives, including Preventative Maintenance (PM) and Reactive Repair (RR) to drive revenue.
  • Properly use and manage a handheld computer to ensure accuracy of call detail, parts management, equipment location, and work performed.
  • Review daily activity to re-assign work within the territory.
  • Provide training and development (Train the Trainer) of new product introduction, handheld computer, reports, 'Service that Sells', and cross-functional training.
  • Manage and control truck operation, cleanliness, parts inventory, and compliance with commercial vehicle regulations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum three (3) years of experience in food service, vending repair, or related fields (plumbing, refrigeration, electrical, small appliance).
  • Valid driver's license with a good driving record and ability to meet PBV's driving guidelines.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to travel daily to assigned accounts; overnight travel may be required.
  • Advanced understanding of electrical components, plumbing, board level schematics, electronics troubleshooting, refrigeration repair, and vending/fountain equipment repairs and parts.
  • Attention to detail, patience, and problem-solving ability.
  • Ability to work hours necessary to complete assigned tasks.
  • CDL license preferred.
  • Knowledge of customer service principles and processes.
  • Public safety and security knowledge of relevant equipment, policies, and procedures preferred.
  • Ability to coach and train others preferred.
  • Proficiency in SAP, Microsoft Word, Excel, and some PowerPoint.

Nice-to-haves

  • CDL license preferred.
  • Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer service, including needs assessment, quality standards, and evaluating customer satisfaction.
  • Public safety and security knowledge of relevant equipment, policies, and procedures for the protection of people, data, property, and institutions preferred.
