About the position

As a Bell Captain at Sea Island, you deliver extraordinary guest experiences every day. You are a gracious ambassador for Sea Island with every interaction. You are always warm and welcoming helping to set the tone for friendly and attentive guest services as you lead and supervise bell stand, doorperson, and valet operations and team members. As a leader within our Guest Services team, you live and share your passion for genuine hospitality in your commitment to enriching lives. You are vital to Sea Island's culture of delivering meaningful, memorable experiences. You enthusiastically direct and lead guests to appropriate locations, assisting with luggage and personal belongings, as you explain and show property amenities enroute. You also drive company vehicles attentively and safely as you transport guests in cars or golf carts. You maintain sensitivity and discretion when entering the guest's private space, as you review the features and scan the room to see that it is fully stocked and meticulously prepared. You confidently handle guest calls and requests, as you maintain a situational awareness of guests in common areas and see to their comfort and safety. As a key team leader, you exhibit a high level of coordination, communication, and teamwork within related service teams. You take pride in keeping all work areas and vehicles clean and safe.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise bell stand, doorperson, and valet operations and team members.
  • Direct and lead guests to appropriate locations, assisting with luggage and personal belongings.
  • Drive company vehicles attentively and safely to transport guests.
  • Maintain sensitivity and discretion when entering guest's private space.
  • Handle guest calls and requests, maintaining situational awareness of guests in common areas.
  • Exhibit coordination, communication, and teamwork within service teams.
  • Keep all work areas and vehicles clean and safe.
  • Follow team's processes and procedures, including standards for quality, timing, attendance, safety, and appearance.
  • Maintain knowledge of Sea Island's properties, services, and offerings, and share this information with guests.
  • Help resolve service issues in a timely and positive way.

Requirements

  • Two years or more experience delivering excellent guest services in a luxury resort environment desired.
  • Strong leadership ability and related experience helpful.
  • Possess and maintain valid Georgia driver's license, and maintain all Sea Island driver requirements.
  • Confident use of standard office equipment, Microsoft Office programs, and peripherals.
  • Physical strength and stamina to perform a Bell Captain role in a high-pressure environment, including lifting 50 pounds and prolonged physical activity throughout a scheduled shift.
  • Ability to kneel, crouch, squat, climb, stand, sit, balance, reach, stretch, bend, push, pull, and walk for prolonged periods.
  • Timeliness and flexibility to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, early mornings, evenings, and holidays.
  • Strong communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
