About the position

The Behavioral Technician position at Global Consultants Inc. involves providing vocational and habilitation training, therapy, and supervision for clients with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Under immediate supervision, the technician will follow individual support plans, communicate with families and employers, and analyze data to ensure the safety and needs of the clients are met. This role requires working in a developmental center or community home, with a focus on teamwork and active treatment interventions.

Responsibilities

• Follows the individual support plan to ensure that the needs and active treatment requirements of persons served are met.
• Communicates with families, conservators, and employers of persons served and the public to share information and meet active treatment requirements.
• Analyzes medical treatment and training data to detect changes in needs, behavior, and abilities.
• Analyzes environmental data to ensure the safety and appropriate environment for persons served.
• Promotes teamwork and working together.
• Trains other staff on active treatment interventions to meet the requirements of individual support plans of persons served.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• Experience working with people with disabilities
• Valid driver's license
• Experience equivalent to one year of full-time work in teaching, business sales, marketing, or providing services for disabled persons.

Nice-to-haves

• Additional college or technical coursework in education, social or behavioral science, industrial arts, nursing, or mental health or human services.
