About The Position

ERC Pathlight is a leading treatment provider for eating disorders and mood, anxiety, and trauma-related conditions. They offer innovative, evidence-based, and compassionate care to patients nationwide through various locations and virtual programming. Founded in 2008, ERC Pathlight aims to expand access to mental health care, elevate the standard of care, and empower patients toward recovery. The Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) works under the supervision of the nursing department and is responsible for the direct care of inpatient and residential patients. This role involves providing patient supervision and support, maintaining structure and boundaries, assisting with daily living activities, and contributing to therapeutic programming. BHTs may also be required to participate in on-call shifts.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED (required for BHT I and BHT II).
  • Valid driver’s license with a safe driving record (required for locations with company vehicles or where driving on behalf of the company).
  • For BHT II new hires: 1 year of direct patient care experience (required).
  • For BHT II: Minimum of 1 year of ERC milieu experience (required, for internal teammates only).
  • Teammates working in a Colorado Residential Child Care facility (RCCF) must be at least twenty-one (21) years of age or at least eighteen (18) years of age and work directly under the supervision of a teammate over twenty-one (21) years of age (required).

Nice To Haves

  • 6 months of direct patient care experience (preferred for BHT I).
  • Mental Health/Psych Tech, CNA (preferred for BHT I and BHT II).

Responsibilities

  • Milieu management, including maintaining daily program structure by following the program schedule.
  • Completing observation rounds and safety checks as ordered by a physician.
  • Working with patients on de-escalation and implementing coping skills per the treatment plan.
  • Conducting room searches and luggage searches.
  • Taking patients out on fresh air breaks.
  • Providing patient transportation as needed for medical appointments (may vary by location and program).
  • Taking patient vital signs, weights, and urine Specific Gravity (may vary by location and program).
  • Acting as secondary support staff in group therapy (may vary by location and program).
  • Providing meal support and bathroom monitoring.
  • Completing documentation of patient observations, meals, and individual check-ins that occur during the shift.
  • Assisting with morning routines and Activities of Daily Living while patients are in the spa/bathroom.
  • May be required to participate in on-call shifts based on business needs.
