About the position

The Behavioral Health Nurse Manager is responsible for overseeing nursing care in the Behavioral Health Unit for adult and geriatric patients. This role involves mentoring staff, managing resources, and ensuring quality patient care outcomes while advocating for patients and their families. The Nurse Manager collaborates with other healthcare disciplines and contributes to department operations, embodying the values of Pipeline Health.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee nursing care provided on a 24-hour basis to adult and geriatric patients in the Behavioral Health Unit.
  • Mentor and support nursing staff in their professional development.
  • Manage resources effectively to ensure quality patient care outcomes and patient satisfaction.
  • Plan, organize, coordinate, direct, and evaluate patient care in collaboration with other disciplines.
  • Contribute to department operations and communications, upholding the standards of AIDET patient communication.

Requirements

  • Five (5+) years of management-level inpatient psychiatric experience.
  • Current RN license in the state of California.
  • Bachelor's degree in nursing preferred.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from American Heart Association (AHA).
  • Certification in AB508 Workplace Violence Prevention and De-escalation or equivalent.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in time management and prioritizing tasks.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently.
