About the position

View Point Health is a community behavioral health center utilizing a team of psychiatrists, nurses, licensed counselors and social workers, and other professionals to provide services to individuals who need treatment and support to cope with mental illness, substance abuse, and intellectual and developmental disabilities. View Point Health serves uninsured, underinsured, low-income Medicaid, Medicare, war veterans and some private insurance across multiple locations with a full continuum of behavioral health services and support. The services provided by View Point Health contribute to the reduction in homelessness, reduction in crime and subsequent incarcerations, higher graduation rates, lower dropout rates, decreased ER visits and decreased inpatient admissions. View Point Health's Court Services provides group, family, and individual education, skills-based training and supportive counseling to consumers and their families/significant others. Designs counseling/education services that meet the individual needs of the consumer. Educates families/significant others on the addiction and recovery process. Assesses consumer's treatment needs and assists him/her to develop appropriate individual treatment goals. Meets with consumers at established intervals to discuss progress toward goals. With input from the clinical coordinator as needed, identifies unmet needs, reviews available resources, and suggests modifications to the treatment plan. Writes clear, concise, complete, grammatically correct, and timely progress notes that relate directly to the treatment outcomes described in the service plan. Completes discharge summaries and other documentation and reports accurately and timely.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Master's degree in a related field from an accredited college or university OR Bachelor's degree in a related field from an accredited college or university AND Two years of related experience OR One year of experience at the lower level Behavioral Health Counselor 1 (HCP100) or position equivalent.
  • Some positions may require certification or licensure.
