About the position

As a Behavior Technician at Autism Spectrum Therapies (AST), you will play a crucial role in helping children with autism develop essential skills through applied behavior analysis (ABA). This entry-level position is in high demand and offers the opportunity to make a significant impact on the lives of children and their families. You will work with children from toddler to school age, providing therapy in their homes or at AST centers, and will have the chance to grow professionally within the organization.

Responsibilities

• Support children with autism in learning and developing communication, socialization, and self-help skills through play-based therapy.
• Create lasting, positive changes for children and their families.
• Engage in physical activities as required by specific client assignments, including lifting up to 35 pounds and moving quickly according to client needs.
• Gain training and skills to support a career in behavior analysis, behavioral health, teaching, and related fields.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old on or before the first day of employment.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license preferred.
• Eligibility to work in the United States.
• Ability to pass a background check.
• Availability to work a consistent weekly schedule, including mornings, afternoons, and/or evenings.

Nice-to-haves

• Bilingual, with English/Spanish fluency.
• Studied, majored, or minored in psychology, education, special education, childcare, behavioral health, health science, or a related field.
• Experience working with children in roles such as babysitter, nanny, tutor, teacher, coach, or camp counselor.
