About The Position

The Behavior Support Supervisor plays a critical role in supporting a positive, safe, and productive learning environment across the Kuna School District. This position is responsible for building staff capacity to effectively respond to student behavior needs through training, coaching, and the development of targeted behavior support plans. The supervisor collaborates with teachers, administrators, and multidisciplinary teams to design and implement proactive, evidence-based strategies that promote student success. This role emphasizes strengthening Tier 1 instructional practices while supporting Tier 2 and Tier 3 behavioral interventions aligned to district MTSS frameworks.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Special Education, Psychology, or related field
  • Valid Idaho teaching certificate (or ability to obtain)
  • Experience working with students with behavioral needs in a school setting
  • Demonstrated experience in behavior intervention planning and staff training

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree preferred
  • Experience with Functional Behavior Assessments (FBA) and Behavior Intervention Plans (BIP)
  • Background in PBIS or MTSS implementation at the school or district level
  • Experience coaching teachers or leading professional development
  • CPI or other crisis prevention/intervention training certification

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and monitor individualized behavior support plans for students with identified behavioral needs.
  • Collaborate with school teams (teachers, counselors, administrators, special education staff) to ensure plans are aligned with student needs and instructional goals.
  • Ensure behavior plans include proactive strategies, clear expectations, and measurable outcomes.
  • Regularly review and adjust plans based on student progress and behavioral data.
  • Design and deliver professional development for certified and classified staff on effective classroom behavior strategies, de-escalation techniques, and positive behavior supports.
  • Provide ongoing coaching and modeling in classrooms to support implementation of behavior strategies.
  • Train school teams on how to consistently implement behavior support plans with fidelity.
  • Build staff understanding of behavior as communication and promote evidence-based practices.
  • Serve as a resource and partner to building leadership teams in addressing student behavior needs.
  • Participate in MTSS, problem-solving, and intervention team meetings.
  • Collaborate with district departments (e.g., Special Education, Counseling, Safety) to ensure cohesive systems of support.
  • Support development of consistent behavioral expectations and responses across schools.
  • Collect, analyze, and interpret student behavioral data to guide decision-making and interventions.
  • Monitor the effectiveness of behavior support plans and adjust strategies accordingly.
  • Assist schools in using behavior data systems to track trends and identify areas for improvement.
  • Provide reports and updates to district leadership on behavior trends and outcomes.
  • Support the development and refinement of district-wide behavior support systems aligned to MTSS.
  • Stay current on research and best practices in behavior intervention and apply findings to district practices.
  • Contribute to the development of resources, protocols, and tools that support effective behavior management.
