About the position

The Behavior Specialist at Phillips Programs is responsible for overseeing behavior management programs for students with emotional and behavioral needs. This full-time position involves providing crisis intervention, training staff, and collaborating with educational teams to develop and implement effective behavior strategies. The role emphasizes proactive measures to minimize reactive programming, ensuring a supportive and respectful environment for students.

Responsibilities

• Supervise specific group and individual behavior programs.
• Provide crisis intervention and support to staff and students.
• Consult with teaching staff to develop behavior management programs.
• Supervise the implementation of behavior programs and provide follow-up consultation.
• Assist in the identification and development of behavioral objectives for IEPs.
• Participate in case review processes and progress report evaluations.
• Provide direct services to classes and children as needed for behavior management.
• Serve as an administrator for yearly reviews and re-evaluation meetings.
• Participate in the referral process for potential students and coordinate with staff regarding placements.
• Assist in training development and orientation processes.

Requirements

• Master's degree in psychology, education, or a related field required.
• Experience in crisis prevention and intervention required.
• Experience in applied behavior analysis, functional assessment, and positive behavioral supports desired.
• Behavioral counseling experience is preferred.
• BCBA certification is a plus.
