About the position

The Before & After School Counselor position at Park Ridge Park District involves leading and supervising activities for children aged 5 to 11 in the "Beyond the Bell" program. Counselors are responsible for ensuring the safety of children and the smooth operation of various program activities, including arts & crafts, stories, indoor/outdoor play, and homework assistance. This role requires working at various District 64 schools in Park Ridge, primarily during weekday mornings and afternoons.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise activities for children aged 5-11.
• Ensure the safety of children during program activities.
• Implement and participate in arts & crafts, stories, and indoor/outdoor play.
• Assist children with homework as needed.
• Maintain a smooth operation of the program activities.

Requirements

• Six months of experience dealing with children ages 5-11.
• Advanced level of written and verbal communication in English.
• High school diploma or equivalent, or currently enrolled in a state-approved high school program.
