About the position

The Beer and Wine Clerk is responsible for stocking, rotating, and facing beer and wine products while providing exceptional customer service. This role contributes to a positive team environment and ensures compliance with liquor laws and company policies. The position requires adaptability, multitasking, and a focus on customer satisfaction, with a schedule likely to be Friday through Monday.

Responsibilities

• Stocks, rotates, and faces Beer and Wine products.
• Provides exceptional customer service and contributes to a positive team environment.
• Engages customers in a friendly manner, shares product information, and assists in locating products throughout the store.
• Prepares Beer and Wine department for store opening and closing.
• Assists customers with product selection and shares product knowledge.
• Partners with Promotions department to conduct in-store tastings.
• Handles damaged and spoiled products according to company policy.
• Receives and unloads merchandise; checks quality, count, and condition.
• Maintains cleanliness, organization, and rotation of all areas, products, and supplies.
• Maintains accurate pricing and signage that meet merchandising standards.

Requirements

• Previous customer service, food service, retail, or grocery experience preferred.
• Knowledge and/or experience working with beer and wine preferred.
• Basic math and computation skills required.
• Self-motivated with high attention to detail, quality, and presentation.
• Ability to manage difficult customer interactions preferred.
• Ability to maintain a flexible schedule to meet department needs.
