About the position

The Beauty and Wellness Consultant at Walgreens is responsible for maximizing sales and brand awareness by providing exceptional customer care. This role involves offering personalized beauty advice, conducting skincare consultations, and ensuring a delightful customer experience. The consultant will also oversee the beauty department's standards and engage in promotional activities to enhance customer loyalty and brand recognition.

Responsibilities

• Engage customers by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services.
• Resolve customer issues and answer questions to ensure a positive customer experience.
• Model and share customer care best practices by proactively offering assistance and informing customers of options.
• Provide expertise in product demonstrations and consultations utilizing tools such as the Skin Hydrometer and tablet.
• Lead and deliver in-store events to promote brand awareness and loyalty of Owned Brands and total Beauty, Wellness and Personal Care.
• Build relationships with customers and provide authentic closure of customer interactions.
• Engage with omni-channel solutions to enhance customer engagement/experience.
• Achieve or exceed predetermined sales goals by assisting customers in the purchase of products.
• Review beauty business performance regularly in partnership with store leadership.
• Focus on link-selling and up-selling with customers by showing them sale items and complimentary offerings.
• Ensure compliance with hygiene standards for testers and maintain a clean and organized department.
• Process sales for customers and/or employee purchases on cash register.
• Participate in meetings and conference calls concerning programs and promotions, new items, and sales goals.
• Maintain knowledge of store systems and store equipment.
• Comply with all company policies and procedures; maintain respectful relationships with coworkers.

Requirements

• High School Diploma/GED and at least one year of experience in a retail sales environment that required meeting a defined sales goal.
• Experience proactively selling beauty or cosmetic products and providing customer care.
• Knowledge of products and brands to engage and meet customer needs.
• Experience building and maintaining relationships within a team.
• Basic level PC/tablet skills.
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English.

Nice-to-haves

• Licensure in Cosmetology or as an Esthetician granted by the appropriate state licensing authority.
• Experience establishing and maintaining relationships with individuals at all levels of the organization.
• Experience demonstrating makeup application and providing makeovers to customers.
• Experience selling Prestige brands.
• Degree from Beauty School.
• Experience with another retailer in the form of an Externship.
