Responsible for operating and overseeing the automated paint line for structural steel beams. Ensures proper coating application, equipment functionality, and quality control throughout the painting process.

  • Make sure the paint thickness and color match what the customer ordered.
  • Take care of the pre-treatment process and check that the baking oven is working correctly.
  • You are responsible for making sure the paint job looks good and meets the customer’s expectations.
  • Prevent powder waste
  • Collect leftover powder that doesn’t meet standards and put it in the correct plastic bags
  • Prepare for the color change ahead of time whenever possible (get the new powder ready, provide it to the other painter, make sure there’s minimal powder left in the booth, wear PPE, and empty the powder tanks as much as you can).
  • One painter cleans the cabin, paint guns, camera, walls, and high-voltage nozzle
  • The other painter blows out the gun hoses, replaces the powder tank, cleans the transfer pipes, and cleans the cyclone
  • Reconnect the powder collector to the bottom of the filters for standard colors
  • Visually inspect welds for defects
  • Perform Tory control checks
  • Scrape and clean the paint booth
  • Check and clean the bath filters
  • Monitor and control furnace temperatures
  • Find powder in storage, Return unused powder, Record your workstation number
  • The AWL 3 painter supports the main operator during production changeovers.
  • Maintenance of powder tanks (offline)
  • Clean
  • Open powder pumps and control injector with caliber
  • Controlling venturi
  • Checking compressed air tips
  • Control suction nozzle.
  • Check fluidization plate.
  • Cleaning + order and cleanliness of the line. Each team has one area per 2 weeks to clean.
  • Maintenance help with some troubleshooting (basic), change of guns, manual help.
  • At the beginning of the shift, the painter consults the main operator to anticipate color changes.
  • You perform the 5S audits according to the instructions
  • Follow all safety rules
  • Check paint quality and smooth out any issues to meet thickness and adhesion standards
  • How to operate machines, ovens, baths, and pumps
  • How to set paint guns (voltage and air flow)
  • How to use and adjust paint settings
  • Basic safety for explosive risks and fire systems (ATEX)
