This continued success has created a need for a BDA Fire Alarm Technician to work out of our Baltimore, MD territory. Here's a glimpse of some of the responsibilities you will be doing day to day: Test and install Bi-Directional Amplifier (BDA) and Distributed Antenna Systems (DAS) to enhance emergency responder radio coverage in buildings. Integrate BDA systems with Fire Alarm Control Panels (FACP) and ensure proper signaling and compliance. Read and interpret construction documents, wiring diagrams, and equipment specifications. Maintain up-to-date records and documentation related to project activities and progress. Coordinate with general contractors, project managers, and inspectors.

Requirements

  • Must have an active FCC General Radiotelephone Operator License or equivalent
  • Experience with BDA/ERRCS or public safety DAS systems (1-3 years preferred)
  • Strong understanding of RF theory, signal propagation, coaxial infrastructure, and donor antenna alignment
  • Ability to operate RF test equipment (spectrum analyzers, signal meters, PIM testers, sweep gear).
  • Knowledge of cabling standards: plenum coax, connectors, splitters, couplers, attenuators.
  • Comfortable working on lifts, ladders, rooftops, and mechanical spaces.
  • Ability to read prints and work with project managers on material lists and layouts.
  • Strong communication, documentation, and customer-service skills.

  • NICET certifications (preferred but not required)
