About the position

We are seeking a friendly and attentive Bartender to join our dynamic team at Los Cucos Mexican Cafe. As a Bartender, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, preparing and serving beverages, and maintaining a clean and safe environment for our guests. If you have a passion for the hospitality industry and a knack for mixing drinks, we encourage you to apply. You will prepare and serve a variety of beverages, including cocktails, beer, and wine, while managing the cash register and operating the point-of-sale (POS) system. Maintaining a clean and organized bar area is crucial, which includes the back bar, storage rooms, and restrooms. You will also be responsible for restocking and maintaining inventory of liquor, beer, and supplies. Upselling and promoting drinks and appetizers will be part of your duties to increase sales, and you will provide recommendations for food and drinks to guests. It is essential to handle cash accurately and follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines. Working effectively in a fast-paced environment is key, as you will be handling multiple orders and requests at once. Collaboration with other team members is important to ensure excellent service to all guests. Additionally, you may participate in banquet and catering events, serving guests and handling cash and credit transactions, while ensuring compliance with all restaurant policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Experience in the food and beverage industry, preferably in a restaurant or nightclub setting.
  • Strong knowledge of cocktails, beer, and wine.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Basic knowledge of food handling and food safety guidelines.
  • Proficiency with a POS system.
  • Ability to lift, push, and pull heavy objects, such as kegs and cases of beer.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Must be at least 21 years old to serve alcohol.
