About the position

As a Barista and Cashier at Beaucoup Bakery, you will play a crucial role in delivering exceptional customer service while preparing and serving high-quality coffee and pastries. This position involves engaging with customers, maintaining a clean workspace, and supporting the team in a fast-paced environment as the bakery expands its offerings.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers warmly and assist them with their orders, answering any questions about our menu, products, and services.
• Prepare and serve a variety of coffee beverages, such as espresso drinks, lattes, cappuccinos, and more, according to customer preferences and company standards.
• Operate coffee machines and equipment safely and efficiently while maintaining cleanliness and organization.
• Assist customers with other products, such as pastries, breads, cakes, gelato, and more, offering suggestions when appropriate.
• Handle cash, credit card transactions, and point-of-sale (POS) systems accurately and efficiently.
• Keep the coffee bar, counter, and dining areas clean and organized, ensuring that all health and safety guidelines are followed.
• Assist with restocking inventory and keeping track of product levels, ensuring we are always prepared for the next rush.
• Collaborate with other team members and listen to the direction of upper management to help keep the café and bakery running smoothly.
• Help with promotional events or new product offerings, ensuring customers are informed and excited about our growing menu.

Requirements

• Customer service experience or working in a café environment preferred.
• Barista or coffee-making experience is required for the barista position.
• Basic understanding of coffee and espresso drinks, with a desire to learn more and stay updated on coffee trends.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage with customers in a friendly and positive manner.
• Strong attention to detail, especially in preparing and serving beverages to customer specifications.
• Ability to work collaboratively with other team members to ensure smooth operations.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a high level of accuracy and customer service.
• Ability to keep your workspace clean and organized while handling multiple tasks at once.
• Ability to stand for long periods of time, lift moderate weights (up to 30 pounds), and move quickly when needed.
