About the position

The position involves managing and maintaining audio-visual (AV) equipment for events held in banquet and meeting rooms. Responsibilities include checking equipment functionality before events, assisting clients with AV interfaces, securing equipment, and ensuring proper setup and breakdown of AV materials. The role also requires instructing guests on equipment usage, monitoring equipment during events, and performing preventive maintenance. Responsibilities

  • Check AV equipment before event begins to ensure it is operational, and repair equipment when necessary.
  • Assist clients with ensuring the interface of audio, video, and projection devices in banquet and meeting rooms.
  • Lock and secure equipment when not in use.
  • Tape down and dress all loose wire and cable.
  • Breakdown and remove equipment from meeting rooms promptly following event and return to secure storage location.
  • Instruct guests/customers about proper usage and operation of AV equipment at each assigned event.
  • Assist guests/customers with establishing an Internet connection in banquet and meeting rooms.
  • Secure equipment to cart when transporting, taking care to protect both equipment and people from harm.
  • Check delivered equipment and room set-up against Banquet Event Order before event begins to ensure that accuracy against flowsheets.
  • Monitor equipment operation at appropriate intervals during each assigned event.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on AV equipment and materials, including changing bulbs and cleaning equipment as required.
  • Label any broken equipment with a tag that includes a description of the problem and communicate problem to manager/supervisor.
  • Communicate any additions or deletions to flowsheets to manager/supervisor and other departments as necessary.
  • Oversee the set-up of AV equipment in banquet and meeting rooms.
  • Up-sell different AV services and products to customers.
  • Set-up, operate, and troubleshoot audio equipment to include playback and recording of all formats according to flowsheet and Banquet Event Order.
  • Hold team members accountable for proper setup and breakdown of all AV material.
  • Facilitating all training of new housemen regarding: setups, breakdowns and AV equipment.
  • Operate and maintain house audio system in banquet and meeting rooms.
  • Set-up and maintain portable audio system for property.
  • Set-up, operate, and troubleshoot video equipment including video cameras and recorders (e.g., VHS, DVD, DVR) in banquet and meeting rooms according to flowsheet and Banquet Event Order.
  • Set-up, operate, and troubleshoot all projection devices and monitors (e.g., plasma screens, LCD screens) ensuring that all devices interface properly with computer and/or video devices.
  • Set-up and operate the house lighting system in banquet and meeting rooms according to flowsheet and Banquet Event Order.
  • Set-up, operate, maintain, and troubleshoot portable lighting system for property according to flowsheet and Banquet Event Order.
  • Set-up, operate, and troubleshoot conferencing equipment (e.g., speakerphone, video), ensuring connections between the various parties.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and safety of work areas at all times.
  • Comply with company and departmental safety rules and regulations, including the proper handling of all relevant equipment.
  • Practice safe work habits at all times, to avoid injury to self and others.
  • Attend all mandatory meetings as directed.
  • Perform other tasks, including cross-training, as directed.
  • Respond to all guest requests in a timely and professional manner.
  • Plan, organize and execute proper set-up and teardown of meeting rooms and event space.
  • Read, understand and communicate information as directed on the Banquet Event Order.
  • Maintain and monitor all banquet storeroom and storage areas at all times and ensure that the staff follows cleanliness standards.
  • Assist, as directed, to train, support, schedule, interview, perform reviews and discipline Banquet Housepersons.
  • Ensure set-up staff and service staff are properly handling all equipment and all equipment is stored in an organized and safe manner.
  • Maintain inventory of all audio visual, tables, chairs and equipment as well as ordering any additional equipment and requests through TCI approved vendors.
  • Maintain service and care of all trucks, torros, trams and carts used in banquet service.
  • Promote and comply with all policies and procedures of Temecula Creek Inn.
