About the position
The substitute band teacher position at Music & Arts is designed for individuals passionate about music education and eager to inspire students. This role involves providing music instruction in schools when regular music educators are unavailable, ensuring continuity in music education. The ideal candidate will engage with students, assist in recruitment, and maintain relationships with school administration, all while fostering a love for music.
Responsibilities
- Stand in as the teacher for music classes at schools where Music Educators are unavailable.
- Assist with student recruitment or after school events as needed.
- Prepare or follow given lesson plans for days that you are teaching.
- Provide progress reports of the students when required, including student attendance.
- Maintain quality relationships with school administration and principals.
- Coordinate with Music Educators to participate in their concerts.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree is required (Music Education degree preferred).
- Some teaching experience preferred.
- Applicable for State Teaching License.
- Valid state driver's license and automotive insurance.
