About the position

The Bakery Manager-In-Training position is designed to assist customers in their shopping experience by leading all aspects of the bakery team. The role aims to promote growth for the company while ensuring that the team delivers the top-notch product and service that Cosentino's customers expect. This position serves as an understudy to the Bakery Manager and Perishable Manager, providing a comprehensive training experience.

Responsibilities

• Act as the manager-in-charge of the bakery in the absence of the Bakery Manager.
• Support the Bakery Manager in coaching, corrective actions, and performance evaluations.
• Promote a positive team atmosphere with cooperation, high morale, and recognition.
• Supervise bakery team activities in an operationally effective and respectful manner.
• Promote ads and specials to increase department sales and profits.
• Meet or exceed productivity standards for team and individual results.
• Implement Cosentino's Customer Service Standards.
• Answer customer questions accurately and courteously.
• Practice effective inventory management under the Bakery Manager's direction.
• Ensure compliance with health regulations, sanitation guidelines, and safety procedures.
• Operate, clean, and maintain all equipment safely and competently.
• Demonstrate strong verbal and interpersonal skills for positive interactions.

Requirements

• A valid driver's license is required for deliveries.
• A food handling permit must be obtained within the first 14 days of employment.
• At least 3 years' experience in a bakery background, preferably in grocery or retail.
• At least 1 year of supervisory experience in Bakery, food service, or hospitality management.
• Completion of ongoing training and development as per Cosentino's Learning Plan.

• A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
