About the position
As a Bakery Clerk at WinCo Foods, you will play a vital role in creating delightful experiences for customers by preparing and serving a variety of baked goods. Your responsibilities will include maintaining cleanliness in the bakery area, ensuring product freshness, and providing exceptional customer service. This part-time position requires a passion for pastries and a commitment to teamwork in a community-focused environment.
Responsibilities
- Scale, mix, and bake various bakery goods.
- Maintain proper inventory levels of products.
- Ensure cleanliness and appearance of the bakery department meets standards.
- Provide friendly, courteous service to customers.
- Produce bakery products for retail stores.
- Operate and clean bakery equipment and work area.
- Package fresh products following all packaging and handling procedures.
- Ensure quality of goods by following code dating procedures.
- Mix icing or other toppings and operate mixers.
- Set up and ice cakes, including personalizing them as per customer requests.
- Display products on shelves using FIFO for rotation.
- Take orders from customers in person and over the phone.
- Assist customers with inquiries regarding special orders and product availability.
- Maintain an atmosphere of enthusiastic customer awareness.
- Engage in suggestive selling and other sales techniques.
- Follow company guidelines for stock maintenance and cleanliness of product displays.
- Open and close the bakery according to company procedures.
Requirements
- Ability to provide friendly, courteous service to customers.
- Ability to work varied hours primarily between 3:00 am to 10:00 pm, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to push and pull approximately 100 lbs of product at a time.
- Ability to lift objects up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to conduct visual inspections and follow production guides and recipes.
- Ability to maintain composure in dealing with customers and co-workers.
- Ability to stand, walk, and move rapidly for extended periods.
- Ability to perform basic math and compute weights and measures.
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Food Handlers Certification (Per State Laws).
