Responsibilities
- Assist in the production of scratch baked items such as cookies, Danish doughs, breakfast items, specialty pastries, and cakes.
- Create consistent, uniform products by bench dividing, shaping, rolling, and cutting a variety of doughs.
- Work efficiently to produce a high volume of items each day.
- Bake items in commercial ovens, ensuring proper doneness to avoid over or under-baking.
- Condense, label, and protect baked products for storage.
- Maintain an organized and regularly updated inventory system.
- Adhere to food safety and hygiene requirements.
- Follow instructions and respond positively to feedback.
- Work independently and as part of a team.
- Copy existing recipes and assist in developing new products.
- Maintain a clean and sanitary work station and equipment.
Requirements
- 2-5 years of experience working in a commercial kitchen and/or certification.
- ServSafe certification.
- Experience using scales, mixers, and various commercial bakery equipment.
- Hands-on experience with timing and understanding how time and temperature affect the final product.
- Knowledge of how to read formulas and execute procedures for bakery production.
- High level of reliability.
