About The Position

Introba is seeking a Baggage Handling Project Designer to join their growing Team. This role requires understanding project scope, mechanical designs, and performing calculations for baggage handling and airport systems. The ideal candidate will coordinate design information between disciplines, demonstrate knowledge of building codes, engineering design software, and be proficient in Revit. The position involves the development, design, and execution of capital and maintenance projects, supporting mechanical aspects, producing proposals, reviewing conceptual designs, reporting, and interfacing with clients. Additional responsibilities include site surveys, design reviews, and RFI and submittal reviews.

Requirements

  • Ability to understand project scope.
  • Competency to understand mechanical designs and perform calculations for baggage handling and airport systems.
  • Coordinate design information between disciplines.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of building codes.
  • Proficient to advanced in Revit.
  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience.
  • Revit knowledge required.
  • AutoCAD strongly preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical direction to other engineering and technical staff applying standards, processes, and techniques.
  • Suggest alternative solutions to meet client requirements more efficiently, with greater usability and longer life.
  • Ensure reviews and quality assurance procedures take place for all engagements.
  • Conduct comprehensive engineering planning, design, and operational studies.
  • Provide feedback to design engineers on mechanics and dynamics of conveyance components.
  • Perform design work including researching data and determining design criteria in accordance with required standards and codes for assigned projects.
  • Prepare project documents including calculations, plans, specifications, cost estimates, and schedules for assigned projects.
  • Inspect completed installations and observe operations to ensure conformance to design and equipment specifications and compliance with operational and safety standards.
  • Track and identify new opportunities to improve methodology and training offerings.
  • Recommend design modifications to eliminate machine or system malfunctions.
  • Use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.
  • Write specifications, prepare cost estimates, interpret national codes and standards, and research related codes and standards to ensure compliance.
