About The Position

The Backroom Coordinator is responsible for executing receiving and merchandising standards while ensuring Associates are processing efficiently and effectively, and working as a team. This role ensures an excellent customer experience by engaging and interacting with all customers, and maintaining a clean and organized store. The Backroom Coordinator models exceptional customer service, creates a positive internal and external customer experience, and promotes a culture of honesty and integrity while maintaining confidentiality. They orchestrate truck delivery, prioritizing the processing of merchandise onto the sales floor, and train and mentor Associates on merchandising and processing principles. The role ensures merchandise is properly tagged, hung, secured, and coded, and communicates with the Coordinator on Duty to ensure efficient flow of goods to the sales floor. They ensure Associates complete tasks and activities according to the store plan, prioritizing as needed, and monitor the productivity of the team, coaching as necessary. The Backroom Coordinator organizes and rotates back stock for easy replenishment, maintains and upholds merchandising philosophy and signage standards, and ensures all organizational, cleanliness, and recovery standards for the backroom area are met. They ensure compliance with recycling and, where applicable, hazardous waste programs. Communication is key, accurately and effectively communicating with management and Associates when setting and addressing priorities, and providing progress updates. They provide and accept recognition and constructive feedback, and partner with Management on Associate training needs to increase effectiveness. Ensuring adherence to all labor laws, policies, and procedures is critical, as is promoting credit and loyalty programs and supporting and participating in store shrink reduction goals and programs. Safety awareness and maintaining a safe environment are also key responsibilities. Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

Able to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends

1 year retail experience
6 months of leadership experience
