About the position

We're looking for an experienced backend software engineer to help drive and evolve our product. Our technology is new and rapidly evolving: you'll be an early contributor with a substantial impact on the architecture and be solving multiple exciting technical challenges!

Responsibilities

• Design, extend and optimize a large-scale, highly scalable, and fault-tolerant system that handles large graph datasets at enterprise scale.
• Architect and implement Security products to protect customers' data.
• Solve real-world scaling problems that require thorough performance analysis and troubleshooting skills.
• Work with a modern and constantly evolving microservices-based software stack which includes Go, Kubernetes, BigTable, BigQuery, Spanner, Redis, Docker, Etcd.
• Write secure-by-design hardened software that must withstand real-world attacks, while processing untrusted data and communicating with hundreds of thousands of endpoints over the internet.

Requirements

• Strong track record in building backends that are actively used at scale.
• Experience developing large applications preferably in Go, or alternatively in Java, C#, Scala, Kotlin or Rust.
• Used databases at a very large scale; knowledge of GCP services is a plus.
• Experience with profiling and optimizing distributed code that uses large databases and streaming platforms.
• Hands-on experience with microservices and Kubernetes.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Ability to thrive in fast-paced environments tackling ambiguous challenges.
• Customer-centric mindset and enjoyment of direct feedback from customers.
• Located in the Bay Area and available to come into the office two times a week.

• Experience in building connectors that integrate at API level with SaaS applications commonly used in enterprises.
