About The Position
The Senior AKS Engineer is responsible for designing, building, automating, and supporting enterprise Kubernetes platforms within Microsoft Azure. This role requires deep hands-on expertise with Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), cloud-native technologies, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), CI/CD automation, and platform operations in large-scale production environments.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree from a Four (4) year College or University.
- 5+ years of experience in Cloud Infrastructure, DevOps, SRE, or Platform Engineering.
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) and Kubernetes administration.
- Strong experience with Microsoft Azure Kubernetes.
- Strong experience with Docker.
- Strong experience with Terraform or Infrastructure as Code.
- Strong experience with Azure DevOps and/or GitHub Actions.
- Experience with Helm, ingress controllers, and Kubernetes networking concepts.
- Strong troubleshooting skills in production cloud environments.
- Experience with monitoring and logging platforms.
- Knowledge of Azure networking, DNS, load balancing, and cloud security best practices.
- Scripting experience with PowerShell, Bash, or Python.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Responsibilities
- Design, deploy, manage, and optimize Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) clusters.
- Administer Kubernetes workloads, node pools, ingress, scaling, networking, and storage.
- Build and maintain Docker containers and Kubernetes deployment configurations.
- Implement and support CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps and/or GitHub Actions.
- Automate infrastructure provisioning using Terraform, Bicep, or ARM templates.
- Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting using tools such as Azure Monitor, Prometheus, and Grafana.
- Troubleshoot Kubernetes, infrastructure, networking, and application deployment issues.
- Implement Kubernetes and Azure security best practices including RBAC, network policies, secrets management, and workload identity.
- Support high availability, disaster recovery, backup, and platform reliability initiatives.
- Collaborate with development and architecture teams to improve platform scalability and deployment efficiency.
- Create and maintain operational documentation, standards, and runbooks.
- Comply with all company policies and procedures.
- Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
