About the position

We seek a passionate and experienced Rehabilitation Occupational Therapist to join our team. As a part-time Pediatric Occupational Therapist, you will play a key role in improving individuals' lives by providing quality occupational therapy services. You will assess program participants, develop personalized treatment plans, and supervise Certified Occupational Therapist Assistants (COTAs) to ensure effective therapy delivery. Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and test program participants to develop individualized, effective treatment plans tailored to each person's needs.
  • Administer innovative treatment programs and adjust plans as necessary, ensuring continuous improvement of the participant's care.
  • Set up appropriate home exercise programs and conduct home evaluations when needed.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of services, including service reports and progress updates.
  • Collaborate with the rehabilitation team to meet the occupational therapy goals of both staff and participants, submitting weekly schedule requests to the supervisor.
  • Participate in rehabilitation treatment teams and contribute to effective program delivery.
  • Complete mandatory CCS training and attend annual seminars to keep your knowledge and skills up-to-date.
  • Work alongside physicians, staff, and families to optimize the occupational therapy program and collaborate on participant care plans.
  • Provide in-service programs for staff on OT-related topics and assist with departmental budget management, including equipment monitoring.
  • Ensure compliance with all Service Monitoring System (SMS) standards and accreditation, licensure, and confidentiality ethics.
  • Supervise assigned staff, including performance evaluations, scheduling, training, and decision-making related to staff actions (e.g., hires, transfers, promotions, etc.)

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Occupational Therapy
  • One year of experience in human services is preferred
  • One year of neuro-rehabilitation experience is preferred
  • Must be licensed as an Occupational Therapist (OT/L) in the state and a member in good standing with the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA)
  • Ability to exert up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, up to 50 pounds frequently, and up to 20 pounds constantly
  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to establish trust and rapport quickly
  • Strong listening skills and empathy while offering guidance when needed
