About the position
The AWS Principal Architect will play a critical role in shaping the technology strategy and architecture for a health insurance client. This position requires extensive experience in AWS services and enterprise architecture, focusing on scalable solutions and event-driven architecture. The role is hybrid based in Austin, TX, and is a contract position lasting over 8 months.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement AWS architecture solutions for enterprise applications.
- Lead the technical planning and strategy for AWS services.
- Oversee large-scale batch processing and event-driven architecture tasks.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with business goals.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineering teams.
Requirements
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect certification
- 7+ years of experience as an AWS architect
- 5+ years of experience with AWS services for large-scale batch processing and EDA
- Proficiency in Java, EC2, S3, AWS Step Functions, AWS DynamoDB, and AWS Lambda
- Strong understanding of enterprise architecture and SOA.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with SaaS applications
- Familiarity with Kafka and Node.js
- Technical leadership experience
- Strategic planning skills
- Knowledge of Google Cloud Platform
- Experience with DevOps and CI/CD practices
