About the position
The Avionics Equipment Specialist at BTAS is responsible for troubleshooting avionics systems and developing improvements to resolve issues with fielded and fielding F-16 avionics systems. This role involves supporting technical content management for avionics systems, preparing technical orders, and verifying technical data accuracy. The position requires a strong background in avionics and aircraft maintenance, particularly with F-16 systems.
Responsibilities
- Aid in troubleshooting avionics systems for F-16 aircraft.
- Develop improvements leading to the resolution of issues identified with fielded avionics systems.
- Support as the technical content manager for avionics systems and technical orders (TOs) assigned.
- Establish requirements and prepare Time Compliance Technical Orders (TCTOs) and TOs for maintenance operations.
- Perform verifications of technical data as part of the technical verification team.
- Conduct pre/post publication reviews to ensure technical accuracy of data.
Requirements
- U.S. Citizenship and possess an active DoD Secret level clearance.
- Master's degree plus 12 years of experience, 5 of which must be in the DoD.
- Bachelor's degree plus 15 years of experience, 5 of which must be in the DoD.
- 20 years of directly related experience, 8 of which must be in the DoD.
Nice-to-haves
- 10+ years of F-16 aircraft maintenance experience.
- Experience in F-16 aircraft avionics development, integration, and sustainment.
