About the position
The Nursing Clinical Instructor position is focused on the clinical education of students in the Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing (ABSN) program. Instructors will be responsible for teaching in clinical areas at partner healthcare facilities in Norfolk, VA, and will play a crucial role in developing students' psychomotor skills, critical thinking, and adherence to standards of practice. This role supports the next generation of nurses by providing guidance and fostering a supportive learning environment.
Responsibilities
- Facilitate effective student learning in the assigned clinical setting.
- Provide adequate guidance for students in the clinical setting related to professionalism, practice, and research.
- Select and organize learning activities which facilitate the student's attainment of the course objectives.
- Ensure effective evaluations of student practice.
- Promote evidence-based practice.
- Provide a supportive learning environment by providing feedback on student progress to supervisory personnel.
- Collaborate with other faculty, administration, and healthcare partner staff.
- Attend all required orientation, training, and faculty meetings.
Requirements
- Current unencumbered RN license in Virginia or any compact state.
- Completed BSN.
- Two years of successful clinical nursing practice.
- Currently attending MSN.
Nice-to-haves
- Two years of teaching experience.
- Master's degree in nursing.
