About the position

The AV Technical Sales Representative at Johnson Screens Inc. is responsible for identifying and developing business opportunities in the vacuum technology market. This role involves working closely with engineering firms, developers, contractors, and municipalities to promote Airvac technology, requiring strong communication skills and a team-oriented approach to drive sales growth. The position entails significant travel, approximately 60% of the time, to engage with clients and foster relationships across a multistate region.

Responsibilities

  • Proactively develops and sustains meaningful relationships with both potential and existing clients in a multistate region.
  • Utilizes various methods including social media platforms, cold calling, and attendance at trade shows to identify and locate new clients.
  • Remains proficient in public speaking and comfortable conveying ideas to groups.
  • Applies comprehensive knowledge of the field and product features to precisely match products with the unique needs of clients.
  • Answers inquiries from clients concerning products, their uses, and the industry at large.
  • Prepares comprehensive annual and quarterly strategy reports, demonstrating proficiency in analyzing market trends, competitor activities, and sales performance.
  • Utilizes a CRM tool to track opportunities and capture contacts and manage sales leads.
  • Presents project information, quotes, and other bid specifications to clients.
  • Collaborates with various departments regarding customer needs.
  • Performs various other duties as assigned by Supervisor/Manager.

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree in Business, Sales, or Engineering Technology, Technical Certificate, or 3+ years' relevant experience in technical or business-to-business sales.
  • Experience in municipal and industrial water or wastewater business preferred.
  • Experience with a consulting engineering firm and familiarity with Airvac products is preferred.
  • Self-motivated with a proven track record in sales.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills with willingness to adapt to changing priorities and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Ability to effectively write and/or present information professionally, and respond to questions from managers, clients, customers and the general public.
  • Ability to work as a team in a collaborative environment as well as individually.
  • Software proficiency to include Windows and Microsoft Office.
  • Salesforce experience preferred.
