The mission of this position is to provide safe, quality automotive maintenance, diagnosis, and repair to customer vehicles. The essential duties include test driving customer vehicles, running diagnostic devices, and performing accurate diagnosis of check engine, air bag, antilock, and traction control lights. The technician will diagnose and repair issues that cause vibration and noise, perform mechanical repairs of brake systems, suspension systems, cooling systems, electrical systems, and all other major automotive systems. Following checklists to ensure all important parts are examined, including belts, hoses, steering systems, spark plugs, brake and fuel systems, wheel bearings, and other potentially troublesome areas is crucial. Additional responsibilities include performing wheel alignment service, state safety and emissions inspections, general service tasks as necessary, maintaining tools and a clean work area, and embracing Purcell’s culture of safety. Regular attendance in accordance with the assigned schedule and the ability to perform physical requirements as listed in the job description are also essential. Other essential and non-essential duties may be assigned by management.
