About the position
The Automotive Customer Service Advisor plays a crucial role in enhancing customer engagement and satisfaction at The Pep Boys. This position involves direct interaction with customers, providing expert knowledge on products and services, and ensuring a seamless service experience. The advisor is responsible for managing customer inquiries, scheduling appointments, and assisting with various automotive services, all while adhering to company standards and safety protocols.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the first point of contact for customers both in-store and over the phone.
- Engage customers, schedule appointments, and build trust by understanding their needs.
- Communicate processes and timelines effectively to customers.
- Sell parts and services to ensure optimal vehicle performance.
- Organize and manage service business operations, including work orders and register transactions.
- Assist in customer care and facility maintenance under management direction.
- Follow all cash, credit, check, refund, and return policies.
- Address customer service issues and complaints in collaboration with management.
- Conduct routine automotive services such as tire mounting, oil changes, and vehicle inspections.
- Implement and execute safety procedures in accordance with standard operating directives.
- Maintain a clean and organized shop environment.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Valid Driver's License is mandatory.
- One year of related experience in the automotive service environment is required.
- One year of sales experience is preferred.
- Basic knowledge of mathematical concepts such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and percentages is necessary.
- Strong verbal communication and customer service skills are essential.
- Ability to work flexible hours including days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience in sales within the automotive industry is a plus.
