The Automotive Customer Service Advisor plays a crucial role in enhancing customer engagement and satisfaction at Pep Boys. This position serves as the first point of contact for customers, responsible for understanding their needs, scheduling appointments, and providing expert product and service knowledge. The advisor ensures that customers receive high-quality service and support, contributing to the overall growth of the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the first point of contact for customers both in-store and over the phone.
  • Engage customers, schedule appointments, and build trust while understanding their needs.
  • Communicate processes and timelines effectively to customers.
  • Sell parts and services to ensure vehicles run efficiently, adhering to customer care standards.
  • Organize and manage service business through work order and register transactions.
  • Conduct thorough vehicle inspections and possess knowledge of service and replacement parts.
  • Assist in various aspects of customer care and facility maintenance under management direction.
  • Follow all policies related to cash, credit, check, refund, and return processes.
  • Address customer service issues and complaints in collaboration with management.
  • Perform routine automotive services such as tire mounting, oil changes, and vehicle inspections.
  • Implement and execute safety procedures, ensuring compliance with standard operating procedures.
  • Maintain an organized and neat shop environment and adhere to company policies.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • One year of related experience in the automotive service environment.
  • One year of sales experience preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of mathematical concepts such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percentages, and fractions.
  • Strong verbal communication skills.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Ability to work flexible hours including days, nights, weekends, and holidays.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in a customer service role within the automotive industry.
  • Familiarity with automotive parts and services.
