About the position

The Automotive ADAS Calibration Technician Apprentice role at Protech Automotive Solutions is designed for individuals seeking to gain hands-on experience in Advanced Driver Assistance System calibrations. This position offers mentorship and training to develop skills in performing calibrations according to OEM specifications and repair standards. The apprentice will work with various vehicle manufacturers and is expected to progress to a Calibration Technician role within seven months.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service and develop relationships to ensure operational consistency.
  • Perform static and dynamic ADAS calibrations on foreign, domestic, and electric vehicles at customer locations.
  • Troubleshoot complex calibration repairs and test drive vehicles post-repair.
  • Explain ADAS calibration specifications and repair planning to collision repair center personnel, insurance adjusters, and customers.
  • Remove and install vehicle parts such as bumpers, trim panels, and mirrors as needed.
  • Complete pre and post scans using OE and aftermarket tools, and communicate outcomes effectively.
  • Complete static and dynamic calibrations per OE specifications after training.
  • Communicate with the field team to ensure efficiency and productivity.
  • Ensure tooling software updates are completed promptly.
  • Account for assigned inventory including vehicles, mobile devices, laptops, and OE scan tools.
  • Participate in virtual training sessions and complete assigned training and certifications.
  • Maintain excellent customer relationships aligned with company values.
  • Keep a well-organized work area.

Requirements

  • 1-year automotive repair experience preferred but not required.
  • Trade school experience is a plus.
  • ASE or I-CAR certifications are a plus.
  • Ability to learn and understand collision repair processes and terminology.
  • Successfully complete Protech ADAS Calibration Training.
  • Understanding of technology and basic software programs.
  • Ability to learn aftermarket and OEM diagnostic scan tools and factory software.
  • Proficient in using computers, mobile devices, and related technology.

  • Experience with mobile devices and related technology.
  • Familiarity with collision repair processes.
