About the position

The Automotive ADAS Calibration Technician Apprentice role at Protech Automotive Solutions is designed for individuals looking to gain hands-on experience in Advanced Driver Assistance System calibrations. This position offers mentorship and training to develop skills in performing calibrations according to OEM specifications and repair standards, with the goal of advancing to a Calibration Technician role within seven months.

Responsibilities

  • Perform static and dynamic ADAS calibrations on foreign, domestic, and electric vehicles at customer locations.
  • Troubleshoot complex calibration repairs.
  • Test drive vehicles after repairs are completed.
  • Explain ADAS calibration specifications and repair planning needs to collision repair center personnel, insurance adjusters, and direct customers.
  • Remove and install vehicle parts such as bumpers, trim panels, and mirrors.
  • Complete pre and post scans with OE and/or aftermarket tools and communicate outcomes effectively.
  • Complete static and dynamic calibrations per OE specifications after training.
  • Communicate with the field team to ensure efficiency and productivity.
  • Ensure tooling software updates are completed immediately.
  • Accountable for assigned inventory including vehicles, mobile devices, laptops, and OE scan tools.
  • Participate in virtual training sessions and complete assigned training and certifications.
  • Develop and maintain excellent customer relationships through company values.
  • Maintain a well-organized work area.

Requirements

  • 1-year automotive repair experience preferred but not required.
  • Automotive repair experience preferred but not required.
  • Trade school experience a plus.
  • ASE or I-CAR certifications a plus.
  • Ability to learn and understand collision repair processes and terminology.
  • Successfully complete Protech ADAS Calibration Training.
  • Understanding of technology and basic software programs.
  • Ability to learn aftermarket and OEM diagnostic scan tools and factory software.
  • Knowledge and ability to use computers, mobile devices, and related technology efficiently.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and ability to pass MVR check.
  • Ability to pass a background check.
  • Must be able to lift 60 pounds independently.
