About the position

The Automation Technician I at Brambles Group is responsible for performing and managing plant maintenance programs under the direction of the Plant Manager. This role focuses on ensuring employee health and safety, product safety, and environmental protection while enhancing product quality and plant performance. The technician will engage in hands-on maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of various plant systems, including pneumatics, hydraulics, and electrical systems, while collaborating with engineering services and vendors to maintain high operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Perform hands-on maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of plant pneumatics, hydraulics, and electric systems including PLC systems.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical failures in manufacturing equipment such as conveyors and pallet handling machines.
• Conduct minor unscheduled maintenance and repair on trucking equipment like forklifts and yard shuttle trucks.
• Document performance and processes accurately and timely as required by leadership.
• Schedule, execute, and document work orders within the CMMS.
• Participate in machine process and design improvement forums.
• Provide coaching on the use and repair of industrial production equipment.
• Engage in health and safety programs and training.

Requirements

• 3-5 years of experience in industrial machine maintenance.
• Associates Degree or equivalent experience.
• Ability to read and use mechanical and electrical schematics for troubleshooting.
• Understanding of industrial pneumatic and hydraulic systems and components.
• Experience with electrical control panels and power cabinets.

Nice-to-haves

• Knowledge of HMI operation and troubleshooting.
• Experience with Rockwell Automation Compact Logic (RSLogix 5000).
• Familiarity with Ethernet IP networks and VFDs.
• Experience with Yaskawa, Fanuc, or Kuka robots.
