About the position
The Automation Engineer at Magna Exteriors is responsible for designing, maintaining, and improving robotic equipment to ensure safe and efficient operations. This role emphasizes teamwork, problem-solving, and adherence to safety protocols while supporting maintenance and engineering activities.
Responsibilities
- Design, maintain, and continuously improve all Assembly robotic equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation.
- Support maintenance and engineering activities, including preventative maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of all equipment, consistent with departmental expectations and goals.
- Provide training and guidance on robotic equipment to all department personnel.
- Ensure all robot programs are backed up and up to date.
- Review and implement new technologies.
- Program, modify and maintain vision inspection systems for component detection and assembly poke yoke.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering Required
- Minimum two years maintenance/automation experience.
- ABB Robotic experience.
- Allen-Bradley RSLogix 5000 PLC programming experience.
- Ability to work weekends.
