Automation Developer Analyst Sr

About the position

The Automation Developer Analyst - Senior for the Commercial Technology team will provide automation solutions for applications encompassing both test and task, driving projects to delivery with automation and assisting in automation of both data & environment.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the planning, integration, test casing, scripting and execution of all testing to ensure proper coverage.
• Schedules and leads test deliverables review sessions as necessary.
• Work on multiple projects/systems as a project team member and are considered to be a subject matter expert for a single project/system.
• Collaborates with the Business, BSA and Development teams in the analysis, review and translation of functional requirements to ensure testability, coverage, and to create and execute test cases for large business initiatives.
• Automate test cases and execute on regular basis.
• Create and maintain test cases and test data using test automation tools.
• Actively participate in the review of architectural and technical design specifications.
• Write, review, and maintain the automation test scripts in RubyMine and other automation tools.
• Works with BSAs and Development teams on defect analysis and triage.
• Identifies any potential quality issues per defined processes and escalates potential quality issues immediately to management.
• Assigns defect severity and manages defects throughout the project.
• Perform all aspects of verification, including integration testing, functional testing, and regression testing.
• Develop and implement well-defined test plans.
• Creates test status reports per project guidelines.
• Creates test results and test summary deliverables to ensure production implementation readiness.
• Creates and facilitates review of the Test Strategy with the project team.
• Collects testing sign-off from all testing participants, including cross-impacted application teams.
• Collaborates with Project Test Lead on estimating the test efforts.
• Participate in production validation and support as needed.
• Comply with Huntington's standards of the SDLC and adhere to testing strategies & procedures within the industry standard.
• Collaborate with the delivery organization to ensure maximize efficiency in the use of software delivery tools and processes.
• Actively participate in product design discussions to gain deeper understanding of the systems being created and modified.
• Analyze metrics and identify opportunities for corrective action.
• Design & maintain automation scripts for task delivery, which include reports, data management, and environment setup.
• Works under moderate supervision with some latitude for independent judgement and problem solving.
• Provides mentorship to junior team members as needed.
• Understands and follows the project lifecycle methodology consistently.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree.
• 3 + yrs of automation experience with industry standard testing/development and quality assurance methodologies and validation processes.

Nice-to-haves

• Proficient in Quality Center / Team Foundation Server with defect tracking, document management, and knowledge base systems.
• Proficiency in using testing tools (Microsoft Test Manager), query experience with (SQL Server) and Internet Technologies (different browsers, HTML, JavaScript, etc.), RubyMine, Ruby/Cucumber, Microsoft Test Manager, SOAP UI, Mainframes.
• Knowledge of ATDD & TDD.
• Must have experience in building automation script using Cucumber or Specflow.
• Good understanding of Object Oriented Programming, preferably Java or Ruby.
• Strong aptitude in both business and technology.
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills; ability to explain system issues clearly and concisely and establish effective working relationships.
• High motivated with strong organizational, analytical, and problem solving skills.
• Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
• Willingness and drive to learn and understand detailed software solutions.
