About the position

The Automated Maintenance Technician II at QuidelOrtho plays a crucial role in ensuring the functionality and efficiency of manufacturing equipment within the facility. This position involves troubleshooting, repairing, and setting up moderately complex machinery, supporting production schedules, and implementing solutions to prevent equipment failures. The technician will also participate in the transfer of new production lines and provide technical support for new projects, contributing to the overall productivity and success of the manufacturing operations.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoots and repairs equipment used in manufacturing and packaging areas.
• Reads and interprets equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
• Performs routine and non-routine preventative maintenance in accordance with approved methods and documentation.
• Applies safety procedures to all work.
• Documents all work activities via CMMS.
• Maintains flexibility in work schedule along with off hours support and coverage as necessary.
• Ensures neat and orderly work areas.
• Performs additional work-related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• A minimum certificate or AAS in mechanical/electrical technologies or related field or completed an apprenticeship and/or formal automated equipment mechanic training.
• A minimum of 12 months relatable work experience.
• Knowledge of automated machinery and related subsystems is recommended.
• Ability to read and interpret prints and schematics, shop materials, and mechanical and electrical drawings.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Compliance with all local, state, and federal regulatory bodies including FDA, EPA, and OSHA.

Nice-to-haves

• Familiarity with SAP; SAP experience highly desirable.
