About the position
LA Solar Group is seeking a PV Systems (AutoCAD) Engineer to support the rapid expansion of solar energy projects in California. The ideal candidate will thrive in a dynamic environment and contribute to innovative solar solutions. This role involves preliminary engineering, system design, and collaboration with various teams to ensure successful project development.
Responsibilities
- Complete initial preliminary engineering for solar projects entering full development phase.
- Collaborate with the project development team on electrical designs for utility interconnection applications and permitting packages.
- Complete system designs for solar projects including site plans, mechanical racking and attachment plans, three-line electrical drawings, and specification of BOS location and interconnection details.
- Provide technical design information to the permitting and interconnection admin teams as needed.
- Interface with procurement and construction teams to provide streamlined project information.
- Evaluate alternate products and understand the design limitations of standard products.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field.
- At least 3 years of experience designing/engineering PV systems for both residential and commercial applications.
- NABCEP PV Installation Professional Certification, or completion during employment.
- Working knowledge of current National Electrical Code.
- Proficient in using PVSYST.
- Experience with AutoCAD.
