About the position

Fine Finish Custom Carpentry, Inc. is seeking an experienced AutoCAD Drafter to join their team, specializing in high-end custom millwork for residential projects. The role involves working in a state-of-the-art shop in Framingham, MA, with occasional travel to job sites and the potential for a hybrid work schedule. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in AutoCAD and woodworking, with a focus on precision and collaboration within a skilled team.

Responsibilities

• Create detailed shop drawings and installer drawing packages using AutoCAD.
• Interpret architectural plans and specifications to produce accurate shop drawings.
• Conduct field measurements and translate them into precise shop drawings.
• Prepare work orders and material takeoffs for projects.
• Collaborate with shop managers, project managers, cabinetmakers, and installers to ensure project accuracy and completeness.
• Organize project proposals and review estimates before submission.

Requirements

• Proficiency in AutoCAD (v2016 or later).
• Experience with Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace.
• Knowledge of custom cabinetry and woodworking materials.
• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in work.
• Strong self-motivation and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with SketchUp.
• Previous hands-on experience in cabinetmaking or installation.
• Skilled in performing precise take-offs and preparing accurate estimates.
• Ability to interpret architectural plans and specifications.
• Experience conducting field measurements.
