About the position
The externship at Hillcrest Hearing and Balance offers a comprehensive opportunity for students enrolled in an accredited Doctor of Audiology program to gain hands-on experience in an ENT group practice. Externs will engage in various audiology practices, including diagnostics for both adults and children, amplification services, cochlear implant and Baha services, and vestibular evaluations. This position is designed to enhance the extern's clinical skills and knowledge in a supportive environment with experienced professionals.
Responsibilities
- Gain knowledge in adult and pediatric diagnostics.
- Assist in adult amplification services.
- Participate in adult cochlear implant and Baha services.
- Conduct adult vestibular evaluations.
- Perform basic audiometric testing for adults and children.
- Interact professionally with patients, supervisors, and support staff.
Requirements
- Must be enrolled in an accredited Doctor of Audiology program.
- Completion of all clinical and educational requirements of the program.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with pediatric evaluations.
- Familiarity with vestibular and EP testing.
- Basic understanding of hearing aid and implant technology.
