About the position

The Audiologist position within the U.S. Government involves providing comprehensive audiological services to veterans, including assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation of hearing disorders. Responsibilities

  • Conducting, planning, and coordinating clinical and administrative services in audiology.
  • Providing a full range of audiological services, including fitting hearing aids and aural rehabilitation.
  • Identifying and evaluating individuals with hearing disorders and administering comprehensive audiologic tests.
  • Instructing patients regarding their hearing loss and treatment options.
  • Referring patients to other medical services as necessary.
  • Planning and monitoring patient-centered treatment and rehabilitative services.
  • Completing documentation in accordance with facility policy and writing clear notes in patient files.
  • Staying current with developments in audiology through professional journals and continuing education.
  • Attending staff meetings and inter-disciplinary health care team meetings.
  • Performing ancillary assignments, including occasional program management duties.

Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Proficient in written and spoken English.
  • Doctor of Audiology (AUD) or other doctoral degree in hearing science from an accredited institution.
  • Full, current, and unrestricted license to practice audiology at the doctoral level in the U.S.
  • Ability to perform functions associated with contemporary audiology scope of practice.
