Responsibilities
- Write memoranda of law, client correspondence, or notes after researching statutory and case law.
- Review policies, procedures, regulations, technical manuals, and other agency publications for legal sufficiency.
- Act as legal counsel to the head of major operating programs of FHFA-OIG, including research and consultation on legal aspects of audits, evaluations, and investigations.
- Prepare and present cases before administrative tribunals and act as agency counsel for cases in federal court.
- Review the legal aspects of audits, evaluations, and investigations performed by FHFA-OIG and ensure that legal and factual elements of cases involving fiscal or program irregularities, criminal fraud, or employee wrongdoing are independently researched.
Requirements
- Must be a graduate of a law school accredited by the American Bar Association at the time of graduation.
- Must be a current member of a bar with a valid license to practice law in a state or territory of the United States, District of Columbia, or Commonwealth of Puerto Rico.
- At least seven years of professional legal experience for EL-14 level or at least five years for EL-13 level.
