About the position

The Associate Professor/Professor in Human Services/Psychology at Nashua Community College is responsible for educating students in the prescribed program curriculum and providing leadership in departmental and institutional activities. This role involves teaching, curriculum development, student advising, and community engagement, all aimed at advancing the college's mission. The position is available for the Spring 2025 semester and reports to the Department Chairperson of the Education, Social and Behavioral Sciences Department.

Responsibilities

  • Teaches an assigned academic course schedule in Human Services and/or Psychology.
  • Develops, modifies, and evaluates program curricula and instructional materials.
  • Maintains accessibility to assist students with their learning needs and advises them in academic matters.
  • Supervises student learning activities and maintains accurate records of student progress.
  • Coordinates and leads departmental activities and operations, including program development and faculty mentoring.
  • Provides leadership in recruitment and retention activities, including career fairs and student orientations.
  • Engages in professional activities that connect the college with the community.
  • Remains current in the field through professional development and training activities.
  • Observes academic policies and demonstrates ethical behavior.
  • Serves on and leads college or system committees.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Human Services, Psychology, or related field from a regionally accredited institution.
  • Six years of teaching experience in Human Services, Psychology, or related field, with two years in supervision or program administration.
  • Valid driver's license or access to transportation.
