About the position
This position involves supporting a team of underwriters in the Excess & Surplus Lines (E&S) Casualty business through a network of wholesale brokers. The role focuses on assisting with new and renewal business, ensuring quality control of documents, and maintaining high service standards in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist a team of underwriters with Excess & Surplus Lines (E&S) Casualty business on a brokerage basis.
- Support underwriters with new and renewal business including rating, form selection, binding, policy issuance, and invoicing.
- Ensure quality control of various documents including quotes, policies, endorsements, cancellations, and invoices.
- Handle a high volume workload while maintaining excellent service standards.
- Deliver high-quality service to wholesale broker customers.
- Learn the underwriting process and assist underwriters with new business, endorsements, and renewal underwriting.
- Evaluate submission, renewal, and inspection information as part of the underwriting process.
- Work closely with wholesale brokers to develop relationships and enhance their understanding of the company's underwriting rationale, philosophy, and criteria.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree
- 2+ years of Property & Casualty underwriting support experience
- Underwriting support in Excess and Surplus lines environment strongly preferred
- Proficient in policy and workflow insurance applications
- High energy and desire to learn
